Vic: Firefighters contain grass fire in Melbourne s south east

MELBOURNE, Jan 13 AAP - Firefighters have contained a grass fire that was threatening
houses in Melbourne's outer south-east.

A Country Fire Authority spokesman told AAP 18 fire trucks and four aircraft had been
involved in battling the blaze, which was being carried towards homes by a southerly wind.

He said the fire at Cranbourne, which broke out at 2.46pm, had been contained just
before 5pm, averting the risk to property.

Meanwhile, the CFA and Department of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) are at
